2nd Degree Theft Charge Sentence

Bancroft, IA (KICD) — A Kossuth county woman has been charged with 2nd degree Theft after a guilty plea.

According to court records, 30 year old Melissa L. Davis of Bancroft Plead guilty on may 30th to 2nd degree theft on Monday.

The Judge sentenced Davis to five years in prison on the Theft charge. Davis was arrested in 2016 on charges of 2nd degree theft, forgery and identity theft after she allegedly used another person’s information to purchase a vehicle.

The guilty plea dropped the forgery and identity theft charges against her, Davis will be taken to the Iowa correctional institution for Women in Mitchellville.
