shot himself after fleeing the scene of the robbery. KICD News spoke with Clay County Sheriffs Chief Deputy Brad Hawley, who tells the status of the case…
He said the law enforcement agencies involved don’t want Clay County to be responsible for any of the medical costs associated with Mandelkow, in the case, and that is why the case is put on a “hold” status.

The Clay County Sheriffs Office wants to remind people, that while the case is on the hold status, they have not forgotten about it, and have every intent to bring the case to justice, when Mandelkow is released from the hospital.
