Coverage of President Bush’s Funeral

Washington, D.C. (KICD) — Wednesday will be a national day of mourning as the 41st President of The United States, George Herbert Walker Bush is laid to rest.

KICD-AM will be airing the memorial service from the Washington Cathedral. LIVE coverage will begin at 10am with CBS News. You will be able to listen on AM 1240, 102.5 FM or via online at kicdam.com. The service is expected to last until approximately 11:30am.

Bush was a decorated pilot in World War II before entering national politics as Richard Nixon’s ambassador to the U.N. in 1971. He was director of the CIA under Gerald Ford before serving eight years as Ronald Reagan’s Vice President.

In 1988, he defeated Michael Dukakis to become the 41st president of the United States. His term was marked by the end of the Cold War and the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the first Gulf War, and the invasion of Panama. He only served one term. He was defeated by Bill Clinton in 1992.

Bush is survived by 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
