Lake Park, IA (KICD)–Road work at the intersection of Highway 9 and Dickinson County Road M27 begins today.
Work on the north side of the intersection will involve the closure of M-27 between Park Place Drive and Highway 9. The posted detour will be from the junction of Highway 9 and M-27, east 3/4 mile to 140th Avenue, then north one mile to 140th Street at the cemetery, then west 3/4 mile on 140th Street back to M-27 by the Middle/High School.
Work on the south side of the intersection will start one week from today. This will close M-27 from Highway 9 south approximately 1,000 feet to near 131st Avenue. The posted detour for this section will be from the Junction of Highway 9 and M-27, east two miles to County Road M-34, then south on M-34 for 7 miles to County Road A-34, then west on A-34 for 2 miles back to County Road M-27.
Construction on both segments is expected to be complete sometime in mid to late July, weather permitting.
