Okoboji, IA (KICD)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors gave approval to finalized plans on Tuesday will ultimately develop a new park on the former site of The Inn resort in Okoboji.

County Conservation Director Lee Sorenson says the area is meant to be somewhat of an outdoor recreation area with one section remaining untouched.

Sorenson says only one bid was received for the project, but those involved in the planning are confident with the numbers despite them coming in slightly higher than expected.

These plans have been in the works for nearly year since they were first made public last July with the final work expected to be completed next Spring.
