Eight Contestants for 2017 Clay County Fair Queen

Spencer, IA (KICD) — Eight young ladies will compete for the title of Clay County Fair Queen on Sunday, April 2 at the Spencer Community Theatre.

The eight contestants will include: Megan Ahrendsen of Sioux Rapids, Kenzie Connor of Spencer, Abby Galm of Spencer, Lizzy Hagedorn of Royal, Sara Nehring of Royal, Selena Schneider of Spencer, Emma Schwark of Spencer and Haley Schwenneker of Spencer.

The contest will conclude with the pageant, including the self-expression portion of the contest and the crowning at 7:00pm. The event is open to the public.

Contestants will be judged on personality, attitude and awareness, leadership and citizenship, contribution to the community, overall appearance, charm, poise and self-expression.

The winner will represent the fair at area parades, the Iowa State Fair during the queen contest, selected celebrations during the summer, and the Clay County Fair in September, as well as receive prizes valued at over $2,500.
