Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — The Iowa National Guard has honored a Spirit Lake employer with their Iowa Patriot Award. Spirit Lake Community Schools and their transportation manager Dave Dau was nominated by Sergeant Adam Brown – a school employee, and volunteer with the US Army Reserve unit in Sac City. Brown says Dau works around his guard schedule and picks up the extra slack when he’s gone, and he never has to worry about a job when he’s back. Sac City is home to the U.S. Army Reserve 445th Truck Company.
