Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — Three Dickinson County fire departments spent part of Friday morning knocking down a house fire east of Spirit Lake.
Assistant Chief Chris Hoerichs with the Spirit Lake Fire Department tells KICD News crews were called to 15272 250th Avenue with the initial report saying there were still people inside the home, but they had been evacuated by the time firefighters arrived.
Crews were on scene for two hours and were able to limit the damage to home’s exterior with some smoke and water damage being sustained inside. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Assistant Chief Hoerichs believes it may be electrical in nature.
