Spencer, IA (KICD) — Grand Avenue Community Outreach will not reopen following the flood.
Board Chairman Randy Cauthron says fixing the century old building probably isn’t feasible, and fundraising would also be difficult. Cauthron also believes many of the charity organizations housed at GACO have already found alternate locations.
According to our archives, Grand Avenue Community Outreach was created in 2017, after previously operating as The Spencer Dream Center.
Cauthron says there were not plans to close GACO prior to the flood damage.
