Milford, IA (KICD) — Authorities responded to an accident on Highway 71, south of Milford.
On Monday afternoon, the Dickinson County Sheriffs office responded to the accident about 2 miles south of Milford. 32-yr old Matt Steffes of Arnolds Park was driving a John Deere 4520 tractor pulling a scraper northbound.
39-yr old Christopher Cavin of Hartley was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota northbound, and then struck the rear of the tractor, which continued for approximately 100 feet after the collision before stopping. Authorities said that Steffes collapsed after he got off the tractor. He was taken by ambulance to
Lakes Regional Healthcare.
Cavin declined immediate medical treatment, at the scene, and was charged with failure to provide proof of insurance.
