Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake man is behind bars following an investigation by the Storm Lake Police Department, Department of Human Services and Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office.

The investigation began when Storm Lake Police received a report in March of sexual abuse of a child under 14 at a Storm Lake home. The investigation identified 60 year old Salvador Saldana-Jiminez as the suspect, who police allege had innapropriate contact with the child twice in the last five years.

Police acquired an arrest warrant for him in October, and Saldana-Jiminez surrendered himself to law enforcement on Sunday (October 30). He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on two counts of Class D Felony Lascivious Acts with a Child and held on a $10,000 bond.
