Update: DCI Brought In on Dickinson County Shooting Investigation

Dickinson County, IA (KICD)– The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation has been brought in to assist with looking into a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Dickinson County.

Very little information is being made public at this point but a property owner on 130th Street in rural Lake Park tells KICD News they were unable to access their home for a period of time on Tuesday with multiple emergency vehicles being seen on a nearby acreage.

Law enforcement has said two people were injured in the incident with one of those victims taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

We are told the even though the incident did not take place at the hospital, lockdown protocols were temporarily activated as a precautionary measure.

KICD News will bring you additional information as new details are released, but the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and that there is currently no threat to the public.
