Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)– Drivers utilizing Highway 71 to travel south in Arnolds Park will be seeing some traffic changes starting next week due to a construction project.

The Iowa Department of Transportation will be closing the highway to southbond traffic from Lake Street to Benit Drive next Tuesday morning with the closure expected to last until shortly before Memorial Day.

During the highway reconstruction, traffic will be shifted to a head-to-head traffic pattern in the open lanes.

The work is in conjunction with the third phase of construction work that also has detours in place in other portions of the Iowa Great Lakes Area.
