Iowa Great Lake Rotary Car Falls Through the Ice

Okoboji, IA (KICD)– The annual contest to determine when the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Car will fall through the ice has finally come to an end.

The came to an end on Thursday afternoon when the car disappeared from atop the ice of Smith’s Bay.

After retrieving the car from the icy waters, it was determined that the official drop time was 3:17 p.m.

The winner of this year’s contest is Kyle Jungers, a resident of the Quad Cities. For being the one to purchase the ticket with the correct drop time, Jungers will be presented a check for $1000.

2018 now stands as the latest date for the car to drop and it fell through the ice two months later that in 2017.
