Iowa is Down to One Ben Franklin store.

Sheldon, IA (KICD)-Ben Franklin stories were common in most small towns across Iowa but are now down to one location in the state.

The stores known for arts and crafts have operated independently since the company’s closure in 1996.Phil Warnke owner of the last Ben Franklin store in Iowa located in Sheldon, spoke to KICD about keeping the Ben Franklin name.

Warnke tells us how thinking outside the box is important for keeping the shelves full.

Warnke says he technically isn’t the last Ben Franklin store in Iowa, just the last one with original branding.

Warnke owned the store for about 33 years and 27 years independently and has no plans to close the store anytime soon he says it all comes down to health.
