Lake Park, IA (KICD) — The Iowa State Patrol says a 19-year-old Sioux Center woman died in a one vehicle accident in Dickinson County over the weekend.
Edith Lupercio-Lopez was a passenger in the car operated by 18-year-old Teagan Vos of Sheldon, that went off the road just South of Lake Park around 10pm Saturday.
The Iowa State Patrol says Vos was Northbound on county pavement M-27 and failed to negotiate a curve where the road veers to the East just South of highway 9. The car overturned at least once.
Vos was taken to the hospital in Spirit Lake with what are described as critical injuries. Both she and Lupercio-Lopez were wearing safety belts. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s department and Lake Park police.
