Spencer, IA (KICD)– The long time face of Spencer School’s Theater and Drama Department has announced he will be making his final curtain call later this year as he prepares to retire.

Larry Untiet has been with Spencer Community Schools for 44 years. He took some time to speak with KICD News about his career which began with some time in military.

Untiet says while he has enjoyed many things during his tenure, including directing productions that included his son, he is very proud of a specific record held by Spencer students.

He says is going to miss his interactions with the students most of all.

Untiet will be overseeing the Large Group Speech competitions over the next several weeks before directing his final production this Spring.
