Estherville, IA (KICD)– One of two teens charged with first degree murder in the death of a man in Estherville last Fall has filed a motion to have his trial continued.

Online court records show 19-year-old Cejay Vanderwilt was originally scheduled to go in front of a jury next month but an unresisted motion was filed last to delay that trial to date that is yet to be announced. The defendant has also waived his right to a speedy trial for up to a year.

Vanderwilt and 19-year-old Connor Uhde were both charged last October accused of luring David McDowell to an apartment before allegedly dumping his body along a rural Emmet County road where it was discovered by passing motorist several hours later.
