Sioux Center, IA (KICD)– All passengers and a driver of a Sioux County school bus were able to escape injury when the bus turned onto its side Tuesday afternoon.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene on 390th Street, five miles west of Sioux Center shortly after four o’clock where responding units learned 62-year-old Duane Ver Mulm of Rock Valley had been westbound when lost control of the bus causing it to enter the ditch and turn onto its side.

The bus was transporting 12 students from the Hull Protestant School and Trinity Christian High school at the time of the crash and sustained an estimated 20 thousand dollars in damage.

Ver Mulm was cited for failing to maintain control.
