O’Brien County Sheriff Department Appointments

Primghar, IA (KICD) — O’Brien County has a new sheriff in place.

On Wednesday, the O’Brien County Board of Supervisors met, and conducted the following business concerning the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office. The Board appointed Allen Schuknecht to the position of O’Brien County Sheriff effective Thursday to serve until the winner of the November general election takes office.

The Board approved the appointment of Sargent Bruce Devereaux to the position of Chief Deputy. He will be in charge of all criminal investigations and shall oversee operations when the sheriff is absent from the county.

The board approved the appointment of Deputy Dean Fjeld to the position of Lieutenant. He shall be in charge of all civil process conducted by the sheriff’s office and will work as the first line of discipline in the jail.
