Pocahontas County, IA (KICD) — An Emmetsburg woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Pocahontas County on Friday.

The Iowa State Patrol says a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Michael Diisscher of Pocahontas was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound on Highway 4 when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Chevrolet Impala driven by 52-year-old Kendra Myers which was heading southbound. Diisscher continued northbound striking the south guard rail of the bridge before coming to rest against the north guard rail of the bridge. Myer’s vehicle spun into the west ditch.

Both drivers were taken to the Pocahontas hospital where Myers was later pronounced dead.
