Spencer (KICD) — The Pioneer Collegiate baseball league is looking to Spencer for an expansion team.
Owner Donnie Roberts says they need at least one more team for an even number. Currently, there are teams in Bancroft, Storm Lake, Fort Dodge, Carroll, and Grimes.

Roberts tells KICD Sports Director Mark Magnuson Spencer seems like a natural site with its history of semi-pro baseball.

The Collegiate baseball league is strictly amateur so players can maintain their college status. The Spencer Park board will discuss the possibility of hosting a team tonight.
