Spencer, IA (KICD) — Occasions Event Center – former known as the Spencer Activity Center – will attempt operating a redemption center.
Randy Plagman feels the penny fee for handling each container might provide an ongoing source of income for the non-profit organization.

But this weekend Occasions would like you to DONATE cans and bottles for seed money.

You can donate cans and bottles in the Occasions parking lot Saturday. When the redemption center is up and going it will operate at 610 East Milwaukee.
There have been several attempts at redemption centers in recent years. Plagman says Occasions will attempt to operate with volunteers so they can actually make some money.
