Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — A Harris woman is facing a felony charge for allegedly having a physical relationship with one of her clients.

40-yr old Danielle Shadle, who is an adult living service employee, was taken into custody at Echo Plus Inc, in Spirit Lake. She faces a Class D felony charge of Sexual Exploitation By a Counselor or Therapist. The charge has been filed in Dickinson County District Court.

According to police, Shadle and a 28-yr old male, both admitted to having the sexual relationship between February 1st and october 4th of this year. The male had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, had paranoid tendencies and had to be watched continuously. Shadle was ordered to have no contact with the male.

Shadle’s Defense Attorney, Jack Bjornstad said that Shadle’s right to a preliminary hearing was waived and entered a not guilty plea for her.
