Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD) — Sioux Rapids has entered a new era in communications. Doug Pals with Evertek says fiber optic cable has made its way to town.

The next stage will be expanding the service to rural customers in Southern Clay County, which necessitates physically burying that cable in ditches and service lines to the house.

Pals tells KICD News service will equal to that available in much denser population areas.

The extension of high-speed internet to Sioux Rapids was announced in December of 2021 and took just over a year to complete.
