Spencer, IA (KICD) — A sign  has appeared in front of Southside Grill asking the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council to vote yes  to help the business transform into a sexually oriented business has been raising some controversy in Spencer.

KICD news spoke with Chris Burg, owner of Southside Grill, he says it’s an attempt to raise awareness about his cause.

When asked what gave him the idea to bring an adult entertainment establishment to Spencer, Burg simply stated it was a business opportunity. He hopes the P&Z Commission  and City Council can put aside  what he calls their own personal beliefs when it comes to voting. Overall Burg says the transformation of his business into an adult entertainment establishment will cost around $5,000 and the business will continue to serve food.

Burg also says he’s handed out over 100 bumper stickers and has received some support for his idea from residents of Spencer.
