Spencer, IA (KICD)–Authorities are investigating the death of a young woman in Spencer.

The Spencer Communication Center received numerous calls in reference to a male yelling for help at 13 West 3rd Street Apartment #4 at approximately 8:10 Monday night. Spencer Police, Spencer Ambulance and Spencer Fire responded to the scene, but the 23-year-old female from Spencer was declared deceased.

Police Chief Mark Warburton tells KICD News that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has been contacted for assistance with the investigation. KICD News will have more details as soon as they become available.
