Spencer, IA (KICD)– As previously reported, the Spencer City Council will have an opening in the coming weeks with the retirement of Councilman Bill Orrison.

Mayor Steve Bomgaars took some time during Monday night’s regular meeting to explain what the process for filling the seat could look like noting there are two possible options.

The seat currently held by Orrison is scheduled to be on the ballot for November’s City and School Elections so the opening will only have to be covered by one of the options through the end of the year.

A public reception for Orrison will be held on July 17th at 5:45 in Council Chambers at Spencer City Hall prior to the regualary scheduled meeting.
