Spencer Schools Early Retirement Approved

Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer School Board Tuesday approved a number of early retirements.

Superintendent Terry Hemann tells KICD News that a number of individuals took advantage of the increased incentive of $10,000 a year for 7 years.

Early retirement is eligible to be paid out of a district’s administrative fund. This alleviated pressure from the general fund as new staff members are hired at lower salaries.

Those accepting early retirement include Patricia Campbell, Anita Donaldson, Myrna Edmonds, Rose Fear, Eileen Gengler, Pam Haak, Paul Jepsen, Deb Kimball, Don Martindale, Janis Myers, Denise Reit, Gary Rustwick and Beth Snow-Ketchum.
