Spencer, IA (KICD)– A Spencer woman has been charged after reportedly attempting to enter a home on Wednesday following a request for her to leave.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office received the initial call around 7:30 Wednesday evening from a home on 360th Street just south of Spencer where the owner was able to identify the suspect as 34-year-old Jessica Thornton.

Police were able to locate Thornton near the intersection of 9th Street and Grand Avenue where she was taken into custody and charged with assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.
