State of Iowa Announces First Flu Death of Season

Des Moines, IA (KICD)– The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services has announced the first confirmed flu-related death in the state for the 2023-24 respiratory virus season. State Medical Director Robert Kruse says it was an n adult between the ages of 61 and 80 from Southern Iowa. Kruse says all Iowans should practice good hygiene, stay home when sick, and consult with their trusted healthcare providers about vaccines and other preventive measures.
