Spencer, IA (KICD)– There is a new retail option in Spencer just in time for the holiday shopping season with the opening of TJ Maxx and the company is already giving back to the community.

After being greeted by a line of people from around the area, many saying how excited they were to have the store in Spencer, management donated ten thousand dollars to Upper Des Moines Opportunity which Dawn Dahm says will be used for the food pantry.

Dahm says the donation comes at a great time as Upper Des Moines gets itself into holiday mode.

The new TJ Maxx store is located on 11th Street Southwest just east of Bomgaars. The donation comes from the Massachusetts based company’s “Local Love” program.
