Trial Dates Set For Teens Charged In Estherville Murder Case

Estherville, IA (KICD)– Trial dates have been set for two teens charged in the death of an Estherville man last Fall.

19-year-old Connor Uhde and 18-year-old CeJay Van Der Wilt were both charged with first degree murder in October after police were able to connect them to the death of 20-year-old David McDowell whose body was discovered along a roadway by a passing motorist.

Court documents allege Uhde and Van Der Wilt lured the victim to an apartment on the evening of October 1st before he was shot to death on the road where he was later found.

Simultaneous search warrants were executed at the homes of the suspects leading to their arrests and later pleas of not guilty. Uhde will now go in front of a jury in August, followed by Van Der Wilt in September.
