Underwood Man Killed in Tuesday Evening Crash Near Hartley

Hartley, IA (KICD)– A Western Iowa man is dead following fiery crash near Hartley Tuesday night.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was called to the construction area of Highway 18 west of town shortly after eleven o’clock where it was determined a vehicle had driven through a “Road Closed” sign while eastbound before starting on fire.

The vehicle’s driver, 67-year-old Robert Crotsley of Underwood, died at the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol, O’Brien County Medical Examiner, Hartley Police and Fire Department, Hartley Ambulance and Sutherland Police Department assisted at the scene.
