Spencer, IA (KICD)– We may only be a couple of weeks removed from National Hospital Week but now it is time to recognize the individuals working in the field and helping get those needing help to the Emergency Room.

Chris Meyers is the Paramedic Director at Spencer Hospital. He says this year’s EMS Week is focused on the theme “Where Emergency Care Begins”.

Meyers says those providing emergency medical services around Clay County comes from a number of different backgrounds and training levels.

EMS Week officially runs through Saturday and gives local agencies an opportunity to not only say thank you to responders but also try to recruit new volunteers.
