West Okoboji, IA (KICD) — The man found in a burning house earlier this month in West Okoboji has been publicly identified. Obituary information says it was 63 year old Dennis Flanagan.

His body was found November 4th by Milford fire fighters when they were called to his home at 1213 Okoboji Boulevard.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the State Fire Marshall’s office was called in to investigate.

Authorities say it appears the fire and death were both accidental.

The Milford fire department says a smoke alarm with the battery removed was found on a table, and the tragedy was a reminder to always have a working fire alarm near the sleeping area of your home.
