Spencer, IA (KICD)– The initial wheels have begun to turn when it comes to a project looking to move Spencer’s city owned campground and add a splash pad to the community.

Parks and Recreation Director Bob Fullhart tells KICD News various locations have been looked at with the top contender for the campground being in the originally proposed spot.

At this point in time it looks like the splash pad will likely be located in another portion of town.

Fullhart stresses that this is not a quick process for this project. Next steps will include putting initial concepts together for city staff in the next few weeks which will lead to a public open house early next year that will give the community an opportunity to give input.
