Arnolds Park, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — With the Winter Games just around the corner, a beloved local tradition is taking a pause this year. The Boji Kites team, known for their colorful and awe-inspiring displays in the skies, has announced that they will be stepping back from the 2025 Winter Games.

In a Facebook post, Steve Boote organizer of the Boji Kites Festival says, “Weather is changing in Okoboji with Winter and Winter Games just around the corner, and we would like to inform all of our friends and supporters that The Boji Kites team will be taking a sabbatical this year.” Boote goes on saying more in the post. “Our hope is that we can be back bigger and better in 2026.”

The Boji Kites team has been a fan favorite at the Winter Games, bringing stunning kite displays to the region’s snowy skies for years.
