Trash Fire leads to Grass Blaze in Montgomery

Montgomery, IA (Northwestiowa.com) — A trash fire near Montgomery is being blamed for a grassfire Monday afternoon.

The Spirit Lake Fire Department was dispatched to 1404 193rd Avenue where a field adjacent to the bike trail was burning.

Chief Pat Daly says they were on the scene for about an hour and a half.

Fire Departments from Milford and Terril were also called out to some small grass fires near the Dickinson and Emmet county line Monday.
