Pella, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Greg Ebeling retires after 35 years in education this week. He was a teacher in Oskalooska, principal at Maynard; then superintendent in Maquoketa Valley, Spencer, and for the past 15 years at Pella.

Ebeling says the Spencer job prepared him for some of the challenges in Pella, where the district passed 2 bond issues and made 107 million dollars of building improvements.

While Ebeling is retiring from education, he’s not retiring. He’s going to work for “Many Hands”, an organization he’s served as a volunteer.

Ebeling was right at home in Spencer as he grew up in Brewster, Minnesota.  He served as Superintendent at Spencer Community Schools from 2004 to 2011.
