ARNOLD’S PARK, IA (Northwestiowanow) — Arnold’s Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue is hosting its 49th Annual Pancake Fundraiser this weekend.

The annual fundraiser will be held Friday, May 1st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 2nd from 7:00 a.m. to noon at the Roof Garden at Arnold’s Park Amusement Park.

Chief Chris Yungbluth says the Roof Garden is serving as a temporary home for the fundraiser this year as construction on the department’s new fire station continues.

Meals are priced at six dollars for adults and three dollars for kids. Pancakes, grilled sausage, and a variety of beverages will be served, with the Milford Boy Scouts cooking the pancakes and firefighters handling the sausage.

Attendees can drop off on Lake Street or park in the main parking lot, where courtesy rides will be available to the Roof Garden entrance.

Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will help the department with equipment upgrades.

Yungbluth says improving technology is one of the department’s top priorities.

For those unable to attend the fundraiser, donations can be dropped off at Arnold’s Park City Hall or mailed to PO Box 437 in Arnold’s Park.

The department expects the new fire station to be completed and opened in December.
