Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — A handful of local organizations will be hosting a free community picnic in Spencer this Friday to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday.

Clay County Veteran’s Affairs Director Katie Ginger tells KICD News the picnic will be from 11am to 1pm at the Clay County Courthouse lawn and everyone is welcome:

In addition to the free food – Sheriff and Veteran Chris Raveling will give a very short keynote address. A local singer will also be there singing a few familiar patriotic songs:

The America 250 Picnic Friday at the Courthouse lawn is co-sponsored by Clay County Veteran’s Affairs; American Legion Glen Pedersen Post #1; Clay County V.F.W. and Warner Funeral Home.
