Arrest at Fort Defiance State Park

Emmet County, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — A Facebook post from Emmet County Sheriff Office reports an incident on Monday, May 25th which required several assisting agencies and a large law enforcement presence at Fort Defiance State Park.

The post cites an abundance of caution as the reason for an exterior perimeter was set up about the park. Without revealing the nature of the investigation, officials they police K9s and drones along with officers searching on foot were able to locate their suspect and take him into custody without incident.

Emmet County officials say more details will be released soon, but assured the public there were no actual safety threats during the incident.
