Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Spencer At-Large City Councilman Brian Balk has announced he will seek a second term in the fall election. He says the next decade is a “critical” time for the community.

Balk believes the Spencer city government has the ability to plan for the future, put flood control programs in place, and still remain fiscally sound.

Balk is a business owner and former police officer, who says his mantra as a city official is “Transparency and Servitude.”  At-Large Councilman Brian Balk was first elected in 2021. He says he welcomes input from the residents of Spencer and encourages others to run for office.
