Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowa.com) — A Cherokee man has been sentenced to a term not to exceed five years in prison in a Buena Vista County drug case.

KICD News archives show 38 year old Anthony Smith was taken into custody by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Department last August, for a warrant out of Buena Vista County. At the time, Storm Lake Police said they had investigated a theft at Walmart and found methamphetamine in Smith’s vehicle.

In a case prosecuted by County Attorney Paul Allen, Smith plead guilty for 3rd offense possession. The sentence was handed down by district court judge Shayne Mayer.
