SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A firebombing incident at a Spencer apartment in February has resulted in a felony arson charge for a Burt woman.

According to court records, 29-year-old Diamond Lynn James has been charged with first-degree arson, a Class B felony, in Clay County District Court.

The charge stems from an incident on Thursday, February 19.

Police were called to an apartment in the 700 block of East Eighth Avenue after reports that gasoline-filled beer bottles had been thrown through a window.

When officers arrived, they found a broken window, an intact glass bottle containing a clear liquid inside the apartment, and a partially burned bottle outside near the window. Authorities say a small fire started inside the apartment.
