Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) —  The Community Health Center of Spencer is celebrating its first anniversary this month with a public event and a reflection on its regional impact.

To mark the milestone, the clinic is hosting a community appreciation event on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at its location at 223 W 7th St. in Spencer. The public is invited to enjoy free root beer floats and meet the staff as a “thank you” for the community’s partnership over the last year.

Since opening its doors, the clinic has significantly increased access to medical, dental, and behavioral health care in Spencer and the surrounding Northwest Iowa region. Between April 2025 and April 2026, the facility served 2,650 patients across 5,937 total visits. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, it has supported local well-being by offering a sliding fee scale and accepting all patients regardless of their insurance status
