Cherokee County, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Cherokee Fire Department has had three calls in four days.

As we previously reported they were dispatched to 924 West Bluff Street Thursday afternoon at 4. Smoke was coming from the eves of the home, and were contained there. That fire is not considered to be suspicious.

Friday night around 11:30 Cherokee firefighters were called to 822 West Main where there was a small porch fire. The resident kept it from spreading with a garden house. It was contained to that area, and a small amount of smoke damage was observed in the basement.

Then Sunday morning a combine and field fire was called in at 5061 Highway 59 West around 5am. The Larrabee fire department was called in for assistance. Two semis in the field successfully made it out. The combine was a total loss and 12 acres of corn stalks burned.

There were no injuries in any of those fire calls answered by the Cherokee Fire Department.
