Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Over a year after the major flood that affected over 70% of Spencer’s housing and recovery is still continuing. The non-profit Clay County Long Term Recovery Group was established last fall to continue the work going forward that was needed by so many local residents.

Megan Hanges with LTRG gave the Spencer City Council an update at the latest council meeting, and says through collaboration and networking, more help is still coming in to the community.

Several national groups have sent volunteers to Spencer to help with construction and other needs, as well.

Hanges says the Clay County Community Foundation donated $10,000 recently

Those needing assistance can contact the Clay County LTRG at 712-580-5670.
