Clay County Woman Faces Charges of Financial Exploitation and Theft

Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A Spencer woman is facing multiple felony charges, including financial exploitation of an older individual.

Court records show 58-year-old Amy Lynne Schneider was taken into custody September 15 on an active Clay County warrant. She is being held in the Clay County Jail without bond.

Schneider has been charged in Clay County District Court with Financial Exploitation of an Older Individual, First Degree Theft, Second Degree Theft, and three counts of Forgery.

According to court documents, the alleged offenses occurred between June 2025 and June 2026. The Financial Exploitation of an Older Individual and First-Degree Theft charges stem from an alleged incident on June 2, 2025. The remaining forgery and theft charges carry offense dates ranging from July 2025 through June 2026.

Court records do not provide details regarding the circumstances that led to the charges.
